24th Annual Evans Scholars Caddie Classic
The tournament is an annual event held by Ohio Evans Scholar's Alumni to benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation. This year's tournament will be held at Maketewah on Monday, August 8th, 2011. Last years event was held at Coldstream Club on Monday, July 26, 2010 and was a great success.
The Evans Scholars Foundation is the nation’s largest privately funded college scholarship program. The Foundation, established by famed Chicago golfer Chick Evans.
The Evans Scholars Program
- More than 200 full tuition and housing awards each year
- 850 Evans Scholars currently enrolled at 18 universities
- Evans Scholarship Houses at 14 universities
- Comprehensive selection criteria – academic achievement, financial need, excellent caddie record and good character
- Campus leaders in academic and extracurricular activities
- Nearly two-thirds of Scholars maintain a B average or better
- Graduation rate of 90 percent
- More than 9,000 Evans Scholar Alumni

- Evans Scholars is among the nation’s largest privately funded college scholarship programs
- Golf’s favorite charity with over 100,000 contributors
- Average grant valued at $70,000 over four years
- Alumni contribute more than $4 million annually and over $40 million cumulatively
- Operating budget: $12 million
- Program costs: Tuition, 80%; housing, 10%; program administration, 10%
- Program funding: Par Club and Bag Tag, 60%; BMW Championship, 15%; special events and contributions, 15%; endowment income, 10%
The "Chapter House Concept" and many other benefits of fraternal living make this program unique. For most Evans Scholars, their campus homes are the Chapter Houses maintained by the Evans Scholar Foundation at 14 Major Universities.
